FAQ

Question What is the Barcycle?

Answer---The Barcycle is a pedal-powered party on wheels! It is rented out for special occasions like birthday parties, bachelorette parties, corporate outings...or just a fun day out with friends!

Question How much does the Barcycle cost?

Answer---Rates start at $40 per person for a two-hour tour and go down with the more people you book.

Question How do I make a tour private?

Answer---You can either book all 15 seats at the reduced price of $31 per seat, or click on the "Private Event" button at the time of booking. Either way, to keep the event private...you will be paying for all 15 seats. We just require you to have a minimum of 6 people in your group.

Question What's included in the price?

Answer---We provide a 15-passenger Barcycle with a cooler on-board...stocked with ice, and cups to put your drinks in.

We also provide 2 employees-- one licensed and trained Barcycle driver and a LEAD Certified Barcycle-Tender who ensures everyone remains safe and responsible...while still having a blast!

Question How many people does the Barcycle accommodate?

Answer---The Barcycle has a maximum capacity of 15 riders/customers...and requires a minimum of 6 riders for a tour to go on as scheduled

Question Is alcohol allowed on the Barcycle?

Answer---Yes! State law was recently enacted that allows for beer and wine on a BYOB basis...but with limitations and restrictions (see below)

Question What are the rules/restrictions associated with bringing alcohol on the Barcycle

Answer---The law that allows for BYOB also has rules that all riders must follow. Among them are:
1. Beer and wine only...no hard liquor or spirits.
2. No glass is allowed on the Barcycle at any time (yes this means wine either has to be in a box, can, or protein-shake type of container (store-bought packaging only, no transferring of wine into alternate containers is allowed)...and bottled beer is not allowed)
3. Beer and wine must be brought in its original, sealed, store-bought packaging, and the packaging must be opened by a Barcycle employee on board. i.e. a 12-pack that is opened and has 7 beers in it can't be taken on.
4. Each rider is allowed to consume 3 beers each (or cups of wine) during the two-hour tour.
5. No leftover or loose cans may be taken off at the end of the tour...so don't bring more than you can (or allowed) to drink.
6. A Barcycle employee who is LEAD Certified will be an on-board alcohol monitor/ pseudo bartender. This person will ensure customers are safe and responsible...while still having a great time!

Question How long is each tour?

Answer---The standard tour is two hours long.

Question How far in advance do I need to book?

Answer---In order to ensure the day and time you want, we suggest booking at least 2 weeks in advance...but depending on availability you can book anytime up until 24 hours in advance.

Question Is the Barcycle really pedal-powered?

Answer---Yep! If you don't pedal, we don't move! Be sure to bring the energy!

Question Is there music on board?

Answer---The Barcycle almost always has a bluetooth speaker on board. You can bring a phone with a playlist and connect...but we'll control the volume and ensure we are respectful of our neighbors!

Question Can we bring other drinks or snacks?

Answer---It depends. You can bring snacks on board and we provide customers with free bottled water...BUT you cannot bring your own water bottles, Gatorade bottles, soda bottles, etc. Its not our first rodeo...and we've seen what people will try to bring on board!

The one exception to this rule is that you can bring a case of Gatorade, water, or soda...in the sealed store-bought container. Just like with beer, the case or packaging must be broken by our employee. No single cans or bottles allowed.

Question When and how do we pay? Can we reserve a spot and pay later?

Answer---Booking is completed online at the "Reserve Now" tab on our website. Payment in full is made at the time of booking and is the only way to reserve your Barcycle tour. We don't hold or reserve any spots without full payment.

Question Where does the Barcycle go?

Answer---We have several routes and depending on the time of your tour, traffic considerations, and special events, your exact tour route will be determined the day of your tour...prior to taking off. To see the potential routes, check out the routes/ pricing tabs.

Question Should we tip the driver and bartender?

Answer---While tipping is not required, if you have a great time and your driver and bartender helped make your trip special...tips are truly appreciated.

Question Where do the tours start and end?

Answer---Please refer to the "info" tab next to the tour you have booked (or are thinking of booking) and it will tell you the meeting spot...as will a confirmation email after booking.

Question Can we choose where to start...or end somewhere else?

Answer---Unfortunately, since the Barcycle is all pedal powered, we must start and end at the same place for all tours...we can't customize your start point and can't drop your group off at an alternate location.

Question What if I there are just a few of us?

Answer---A single rider, or just a few riders, can join any tour they would like...as long as there are free seats. If the tour does not get a minimum of 6 riders, the tour will be cancelled and the payment refunded.

Question Do tours get cancelled if it rains?

Answer---Tours go on as scheduled, rain or shine! Rainy tours are sometimes the most fun! In the unlikely event of an extreme weather situation, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule your tour...but that determination will be made by Barcycle staff.

Question What is the cancellation policy?

Answer---Any Bookings that are cancelled outside of 30 days will receive a full refund. Cancellations made inside of 30 days will not receive a refund unless the occupied time slot is then booked by another customer

Question Where do I send my rental contract?

Answer---Rental contracts need to be printed and signed by the renting party (person who paid with their credit card), then is needs to be emailed to us at info@beachbarcycle.com.

Don't worry...if you don't have a scanner, there is a killer phone app called Genius Scan. You can download it for free-- It allows you to take a picture of the signed documents, turns them into a PDF, and allows you to email them right to us!
